Studio Eleven-Month Calendar:
Our studio operates on an 11-month tuition calendar year from September through July. All Regular Weekly Students are contracted to complete the 38-lesson calendar year, which includes 6 lessons during June and July.
Tuition is due on the first day of the month. Tuition will be subject to a $15 late fee if paid after the 5th day of the month. Register your credit card in your personal Studio Web Portal for easy payment. Monthly auto-pay is requested.
Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling:
Please notify the studio a day prior. Log in to your Student Portal and indicate your absence. Choose an alternate lesson date on the Calendar. Notice On the Day Prior is required for a makeup lesson. Makeups for last-minute family emergencies will be negotiated case-by-case. Consider videoing your lesson pieces, sharing, and your instructor will respond promptly with written commentary.
Adult Flex Lessons:
The student and instructor decide frequency and length of lessons. Students pay at month’s beginning for the number of lessons anticipated that month. You assume no 11-month contract; no month’s notice is required to terminate. However, 24-hours notice is required to reschedule a lesson.
Tuition (explained in detail):
For Regular Weekly Students: Standard yearly tuition for thirty-eight 45-minute lessons is $2020; $53.16 per), evenly divided into monthly payments of $184. Standard yearly tuition for thirty-eight 30-minute lessons is $1342.46 / $33.56 each, evenly divided into eleven monthly payments of $122.
New students may enroll at any point in the calendar year. Ask about our introductory four-week trial period, at the end of which you are under no obligation should you choose to discontinue.
Summer tuition payments will be due June 1 and July 1, at your regular rate. (Remember, your tuition is for thirty-eight yearly lessons over eleven months, with tuition divided into eleven equal payments.) No tuition is due in August. The six required summer lessons can be flexibly scheduled. Lessons can be compressed into fewer but longer sessions. Summer lessons are an opportunity to cover special areas, such as theory and improvisation. They also prevent a loss of valuable momentum.
Your instructor is an active performer, which unavoidably brings occasional scheduling conflicts. A makeup will be offered at a mutually convenient time.
Leave of Absences:
Monthly tuition will remain due if extended absences are taken during the eleven-month calendar year for regular (non-flex) students, in order to hold your spot.
For Regular Weekly Students, required is one month’s notice prior to discontinuing lessons. Every student stops taking lesson at some point. Ideally, this decision is made thoughtfully with plenty of discussion between the teacher, parent, and student so that lessons can cease with a positive sense of closure.
